What Does Family Deluxe All Inclusive Mean?
"Family Deluxe All Inclusive" describes a vacation package at an upscale beach resort designed for families in which all expenses are included in the price. Each resort has a slightly different definition, but in general the packages include food, drink, accommodation, activities, gratuities and, rarely, travel expenses.

Benefits
-
This type of vacation package means that families can easily stay within a budget. Since all expenses are stated in advance when booking the vacation, families know the total cost up front. Vacationers only need additional money for extras not included in the price, such as shopping. Families spend the entire vacation in the resort, which eliminates the need for further travel during the holiday period.
Features
-
Usually included in the price are shuttle trips to and from the airport, deluxe accommodation, all meals and drinks, which may or may not include alcoholic beverages, and activities and entertainment. Since the vacation packages are tailored for families, child-friendly areas and activities are usually included.

Destinations
-
Package vacations by definition offer a somewhat limited choice of destinations. The destinations for these all-inclusive packages are mainly beach resorts in the Caribbean, Bahamas and Mexico, as well as specific voyages of most cruise lines. Examples of destination resorts specializing in hosting families include Beaches Turks and Caicos, Franklyn D. Resort, and Club Med Punta Cana.
Considerations
-
Each resort has a slightly different combination of features for each family package. Travelers must make sure to read and/or discuss all details before committing to the package. For example, resorts usually schedule children's activities for ages four to twelve, but many don't have activities for teenagers. Also, activities should be divided into age groups so that much older kids are not bored with activities for younger kids.
In addition, resorts generally don't provide individual babysitters without an extra charge after the nursery closes for the day. Also, more than two children in a family can be a consideration if the lodging rooms are set up for only two adults and two children. Many times packages offer adjoining rooms for additional cost.
Likewise, vacationers should bear in mind the list of activities included such as sightseeing trips and jaunts to local nightclubs when planning their package. Other extras generally not included in the price are spa treatments, gift shop purchases, laundry, telephone and Internet charges. Generally, non-motorized activities such as kayaking and beach volleyball are included, but motorized activities such as personal watercraft rental are not.
Cautions
-
Parents must read all the fine print before signing up with a particular all-inclusive vacation package. Carefully read the details and fine print and ask as many questions as possible to feel comfortable with what is included and what extras may cost. Keep in mind that airfare is rarely included in the deals. Also, for a family vacation, don't choose any programs that are designated "couples," or "adults only." Shoppers must make comparisons to find the package that suits them best.
