- There are several succulent varieties of houseplants that produce a light green foliage. The agave has thick leaves with serrated edges, and sedum varieties like burro's tail have a light, gray-green appearance. The wit variety of the polka dot plant as well as the maidenhair fern both offer variations of pleasing light green combinations.
- Ornamental grass is an important addition to any outdoor garden space. Grasses add slender height, color and texture amid blooms and foliage. Light green varieties include maiden grass, which grows to a bushy height of 4 feet. Variegated ribbon grass, an excellent ground cover, provides a light green and white striped leaf. Zebra grass, one of the showiest varieties of ornamentals, grows in a fountain, upright shape to heights of 7 feet.
- No annual can compete with the striking, rich light hue of the bells of Ireland. These tall, slender spikes are covered with bell-like calyxes, or outer petals, instead of true flowers. Zinnia elegans envy sports light green blooms with plenty of petals, and the fall flowering garden mums can be displayed as annuals in lovely shades of light green in containers, as indoor plants or in window boxes.
- Cushion moss, although not a flowering perennial, will live for years providing a soft, pillow-like bed of light, silvery green to accent your garden. Heuchera, commonly known as coral bells, offers variegated foliage in the silvery light green varieties of mint frost and green spice. Kale, grown primarily for its nutritional and antioxidant properties, makes lovely light green ground cover.
- Bulbs flower in the spring and also summer to fall, depending on the type. Spring bulb blooms for warm weather climates, or summer bloomers in colder areas, with a light, chartreuse-green color include the gladiolus spring green and pineapple lily. An early spring bloomer and garden favorite is the fritillaria tinkerbell, with bright greenish-yellow bells and darker foliage.
