Wedding Candle Ideas
Candles are a wonderful way to set a romantic mood throughout your wedding day, from ceremony to reception. If your wedding will take place during the dusk to evening hours, try some of these unique ideas to incorporate candles.
-
At the Altar
-
Tall, white pillar candles set a brilliant backdrop for your vows. Set up an arrangement of various sized candles in a steppingstone pattern--from the very tall two feet to the shorter six inch--to give the arrangement a balanced look. In addition, set up a unity candle with two tapered candles for you and your spouse-to-be to unite in flame and in heart.
Outdoor Decor
-
If you will have an outdoor reception, candles are a must. Line the walkway to the reception area with tea light candles inside white paper bags along with two pillars holding a trio of candles at the end of the walkway on both sides. If there is a pond or small water fountain, set floating votives inside for added ambiance.

Table Centerpiece
-
A stunning centerpiece is easy to create with glass jars with tall, circular candles in the middle. Place beads or pebbles in the bottom of the jar to hold the candle in place and add a little color. If you are set on a floral centerpiece, add small votives around the vase holding your flowers to illuminate their brilliant colors from below.
Buffet Divider
-
A creative way to separate your buffet table into two serving lines is to use a row of short, fat candles, surrounded by greenery on either side. This arrangement is both beautiful and functional, as guests will certainly understand not to reach over the flames to the other side.
Restroom Ambiance
-
The restrooms are usually overlooked at the reception site. Surprise those guests who need to use the facilities by placing an elegant candle arrangement on the sink. Add various round, short, colored candles, or even scented candles in a corner of the counter, away from the sink and paper towels. Place the candles in glass jars or a votive so wax does not drip all over the place. This small touch will have guests walking out of the restroom with a small smile.
