Types of Funeral Flowers
When deciding upon flowers for a funeral, it is usually not a matter of what type of flower but what type of arrangement. Funeral flower arrangements come in all shapes and sizes. Choosing the right kind depends upon your budget and your relationship with the deceased.

Casket Spray or Cover
-
Casket sprays, also known as casket covers, are flowers that are designed to lay on top of the casket. They should only be ordered by family members. Two types of sprays are available: lid or full-couch sprays extend the full length of the casket while foot sprays or half-couch sprays cover half of the casket.
Inside Piece
-
Inside pieces are flower arrangements designed to go inside the casket. They include corner clusters, hinge sprays, flower rosaries, nosegays, satin crosses or pillows, and sheaves. They are typically sent by younger family members, such as children or grandchildren of the deceased.

Wreath
Easel or Standing Spray
-
Easels or standing sprays are flowers that are viewed from only one direction. Depending on the stand, they can be anywhere from 1 to 3 feet off the ground. They come in many different shapes, including hearts and crosses. Like wreaths, they should be sent by people who knew the deceased or as a tribute for service.
Floral Basket
Vase and Table Arrangement
-
Vase and table arrangements are similar to baskets, but often smaller. Again, they can be sent by anyone to either the funeral home, church or to the home of a family member. People often memorialize a special connection to the deceased by choosing a design that reflects the person's occupation or favorite hobby.
