The term aestheticians can cause some confusion. Yes, aestheticians work with patients. No, they do not administer anesthesia. Those workers are anesthetists. Although aestheticians sometimes do put their patients to sleep, they are skincare specialists. They work with patients who have facial trauma or medical procedures. Aestheticians also help patients with stress management or relaxation techniques. According to the Degree Directory, the average salary of aestheticians is approximately $27,000 a year.
