A wardrobe consultant actively seeks out new individual and corporate clients. She provides an initial consultation with prospective clients, analyzing their needs. She then presents a wardrobe development plan, making recommendations as to what fashion choices will best suit the client's desired image. She serves as a personal shopper for her clients, procuring wardrobe pieces that are appropriate. She also edits her client's wardrobe, eliminating clothing that works against her goals. Finally, she educates her client on issues regarding accessories, clothing maintenance and hairstyling choices.

Educational Requirements

To become a wardrobe consultant, a candidate is not required to possess a four-year degree. Most employers, however, do require successful candidates to possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
