Facts About Xenadrine

Xenadrine is a product marketed as a weight loss supplement. Xenadrine increases the metabolism and heart rate of its users. When Xenadrine was first introduced to the market in contained an appetite suppressant called ephedrine. The federal courts have banned products containing ephedrine because it is dangerous to your health. After this ruling was made by the federal courts, the formulation of Xenadrine changed and became ephedrine-free.

  1. Xenadrine and Heart Rate

    • Xenadrine contains stimulants such as caffeine that will cause an increase it heart rate. If taken in more than the recommended amount, Xenadrine can cause extreme anxiety to develop in the user, and this may even progress to visible shaking. When taken in the recommended amount, these feelings of anxiety will generally lessen within a few hours of consumption.

    Xenadrine and Dehydration

    • Taking Xenadrine will cause an increase in body heat, which will cause the body to become dehydrated. If a person decides to take Xenadrine, they should be sure to increase their water intake to counteract the effects of dehydration caused by the supplement. If proper hydration is not maintained while taking Xenadrine, cramping may occur. Cramping occurs when the muscles of the body do not have enough water to function properly.

    Xenadrine and Circulation

    • Xenadrine may cause circulation problems in some users due to an increase in stress on the central nervous system. When a circulation problem occurs within the body, a person may feel light-headed, develop a headache or become dizzy. In more extreme cases of circulation problems, a person's feet and hands may become numb.

    Manufacturer of Xenadrine

    • The manufacturer of Xenadrine is a company called Cytodyne. The company produces a wide variety of nutritional supplements other than Xenadrine. When ephedrine was banned from use by the FTC (Federal Trade Commission), several lawsuits claiming false advertising were filed against Cytodyne.

    Tyrosine

    • Tyrosine is a chemical that is generally used as a mood booster in various products. Xenadrine contains this product. Tyrosine has an affect on the levels of melanin in the body, which is a product manufactured by the body that deals with skin color. If the level of melanin in the skin is affected enough by Xenadrine, the user may experience a discoloration of the skin resulting in skin spots.

    Considerations

    • Before taking a product such as Xenadrine consider speaking with a licensed medical professional that you are comfortable with. In order for a weight loss supplement to be effective, a user must also make the necessary changes to their diet and exercise plans. A failure to do so will cause the weight loss supplement to be less effective or possibly ineffective.
