Taking multiple birth control pills is a suggested course of action when one or two doses has been missed. However, taking more birth control pills than recommended, even after missing doses, can bring several undesired effects.

Breast Tenderness

Breast tenderness can be one result of taking too many birth control pills. This is also a regular side effect of birth control, however, and may not be a serious side effect.

Discolored Urine

Overdosing on birth control pills may also cause urine discoloration.

Drowsiness

Drowsiness may be a result of an oral contraceptive overdose. This, like breast tenderness, may not be a very serious symptom.

Excessive Bleeding

Excessive vaginal bleeding may signal an overdose of birth control. This symptom will appear a few days after the overdose.

Nausea

Severe nausea is a result of a birth control overdose and is often accompanied by vomiting.

Warning

These symptoms are seldom serious, and death is very unlikely as a result of birth control overdose. However, it is always a good idea to call poison control and seek further instruction if you have overdosed on anything.
