How Botox Is Administered
-
Your doctor will cleanse the area to be injected and may choose to numb the injection site with ice or a topical anesthetic. For cosmetic applications your doctor will examine your ability to move certain areas of your face and mark the injection sites. The injections are done with a tiny needle and there is minimal to no discomfort and no down time. For treatment of hyperhidrosis or excessive sweating Botox is injected into the arm pit, or the hand.
Tips
-
Tell your doctor about any vitamins or medications you are taking during your consultation. Some medications such as NSAID pain relievers and aspirin could have adverse effects. For wrinkle correction, you can expect your results to improve within days and continue for a month and last as long as four months.
