Choppy hairstyles are styles that are layered but cut so that instead of the bottom layer of hair being one length, the different layers of hair comprise different lengths of hair. Choppy hairstyles are described in this way because they are unevenly cut. Everyone from teenagers to celebrities wears choppy styles. Choppy hairstyles are usually cut with a razor instead of scissors.

    Short and Choppy

  1. Short, choppy girl hairstyles are usually worn with the layers spiked up or swept back. With swept-back styles, the choppiness is only noticeable at the ends or when viewed up close. Choppy hairstyles that are spiked up are often called scene or emo hairstyles.
  2. Choppy Curls

  3. For medium-length to long hair, choppy hairstyles can be fixed wavy or curly. Choppy hairstyles, when curled, make the hair appear to have more volume and fullness than straight-cut, curly styles. Choppy cuts can be styled with curls in the same way as curling any other type of haircut.
  4. Straight But Jagged

  5. When wearing a choppy cut in a straightened hairstyle, the ends will appear jagged. Choppy hairstyles fixed in this way are very trendy and often worn by teens. People with naturally choppy hair need only to brush tangles from the hair. People with curly hair can also wear the style after the hair is straightened with a straightening iron.
  6. Flip Out

  7. Choppy hairstyles are often worn flipped out. This can be done with a curling iron to flip the ends out in large curls or with a straightening iron. When fixed with a straightening iron, the hair will flare out and appear more like a beach hairstyle.
  8. Swept Aside

  9. Most people with the choppy hairstyle wear their bangs swept to one side. They do this by parting the hair on one side, sweeping the bangs across the forehead and allowing them to hang along the other side of the face.
  10. Ease and Compatibility

  11. Choppy hairstyles are incredibly easy to fix, and they work with all hair types and face shapes. They are great for high-maintenance trend followers as well as those who have little time to fix their hair every morning and are looking for a quick fix. Choppy hairstyles are great for people with naturally curly or wavy hair because less maintenance is required. You simply wash your hair, apply conditioner or frizz serum and allow it to dry and take its own shape.
