Prozac

Fluoxetine, or Prozac as it is commonly known, is prescription to treat depression as well as anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and panic disorder. This particular medication is a selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitor, SSRI. The side effects that people using Prozac have experienced include drowsiness and nausea, as well as weight loss.

The drug Effexor, or Venlafaxine, is prescribed to people with depressive disorders as well as anxiety and panic disorders. Instead of an SSRI, Alprazolam, or Xanax is in a group of drugs called benzodiazepines. Drugs in this group work by slowing down the movement of unbalanced brain chemicals. Xanax is usually prescribed to those suffering from anxiety caused by depression as well as panic disorders. Some of the side effects produced by this drug include irritability, fatigue, nausea and appetite changes that have been known to lead to weight loss.
