Halloween Cupcake Decorations

In addition to putting up decorations around the house, you can make treats for Halloween. Cupcakes are easy to make, and the kids enjoy a sweet that is decorated with goblins, witches, spiders and other symbols of Halloween. You can use image transfers, plastic decorations, edible decorations and craft supplies to make decorations for cupcakes. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. Candies

    • Sweet candy treats work well to decorate cupcakes. There are ghosts, witches, spiders and skulls to decorate with. Most of the candies come in sheets so you can decorate plenty of cupcakes for Halloween. Black and orange sprinkles and M&Ms in Halloween colors also work well.

    Transfer Images

    • Put a small image on the cupcake after adding the frosting. There are small transfer images of witches, ghosts, skulls, spiders, movie characters and pumpkins. The transfers are easy to apply and are edible. You can make all of the cupcakes the same or buy a variety pack and add different images. Tip: It is best to use a tweezers when working with such small transfers.

    Plastics

    • If you don't want to add more sweets to the cupcakes, you can use plastic decorations that can be removed from the cupcakes and kept as a reminder of Halloween. There are witches that sit on top of a broom, spiders in a web and plastic pumpkins that sit upright on the top of the cupcakes.

    Craft Supplies

    • Use craft supplies to decorate cupcakes. On example would be black pipe cleaners. You could use brown frosting as the body of a spider and make legs from the pipe cleaners that protrude out of the cupcake and rest on the table to look like a large spider.

    Warning

    • When making cupcakes with plastic decorations or craft supplies, you should be careful when giving these cupcakes to children. Make sure that they know that they cannot eat the decorations.
