Outside Wedding Destinations Ramseur North Carolina

Finding the perfect wedding destination is a must. The destination provides the feeling for the ceremony---whether it's rustic, elegant, simple or exquisite. Ramseur, North Carolina, has outside wedding destinations that provide a pretty setting for your affair. It offers beautiful green spaces that can be transformed into a ceremony location, picture spot or reception.

  1. Ramseur Lake

    • Plan your wedding at the Kermit G. Pell Water-Based Recreation Facility---more commonly known as Ramseur Lake. It's a 127-acre lake with a nine-acre park, just off Highway 22 between Franklinville and Ramseur. There are several wooden piers for anglers, which serve as a good location for a sunset wedding ceremony or wedding photos. There is parking available for large groups, along with picnic shelters and rest rooms, so you have everything you need for a wedding gathering. The lake is open from sunrise to sundown Tuesdays through Saturdays. Note that Ramseur Lake is home to a Summer Concert Series, so there are large crowds enjoying the music one Saturday night each month in June, July and August. You probably don't want to plan a wedding on those Saturdays. Shelters are usually reserved in advance. Contact the Lake Warden at 336-824-4646 for information about planning your wedding.

    Allen H. Leonard Memorial Park

    • Allen H. Leonard Memorial Park is located off Brooklyn Avenue, across the river from Ramseur's historic downtown. It's a nine-acre facility with numerous recreational facilities. There is also a lot of green space, perfect for holding an outside wedding. Depending on the decorations, you can make your wedding a casual or upscale affair. There is a picnic shelter you can reserve by calling Town Hall at 336-824-8530. If you want a more formal affair with a reception involving dinner, ask about setting up a tent and bringing in your own caterer.

    Ramseur Community Garden

    • For a more intimate wedding, consider the Ramseur Community Garden. You'll find it at the end of Roundleaf Road. It's open from mid-April to the end of October every year. The garden plots are available to community residents to plant, so you'll find varying plants and flowers. It's a small location, but perfect for people who want to express their love of nature and Mother Earth. Call Town Hall at 336-824-8530 for information about holding an event at the Garden.

    Harvest House

    • The Harvest House is a two-story farmhouse located on 138 acres of working farm on Old Siler City Road in Ramseur. It offers the perfect country setting for your wedding. It can accommodate your wedding inside or outside. For outside ceremonies, chairs are set up in rows on the front lawn, with the "altar" being right in front of the house's front door. You can also get married in the gazebo on the property. Wedding pictures are taken all over the property, including on the porches, in front of the brick fireplace and in the gazebo. Call (336) 824-2784 to plan your wedding.

    Other Properties

    • If you live in Ramseur or know someone who does, scope out the town with them. Look for properties that have what you're looking for in a wedding location. Many people will be willing to loan out their property for a wedding if you find one that suits your needs. This includes farms, hilly countrysides and private ponds. It may seem like a strange request, but property owners may be more than willing to help you out, especially if you offer a few hundred dollars.
