Navy, black, brown and tan are the most common colors for blazers. Navy is probably the least common of the most common, and it may be a daunting task to figure out with which clothing navy coordinates. However, you have many options for that lonely navy blazer in your closet.

Many men prefer to wear brown jackets with navy pants, which is acceptable, but navy jackets also work well with navy pants for dinner parties, at the office or on a date. Simply wear a light tan shirt with tan shoes, and you are good to go. Even a yellow shirt with brown shoes would work.
If your suit did not come as a set, navy pants are available everywhere. Try any navy slacks. Suit pants will likely not match well with a random blazer, but regular slacks should work just fine.

Tan slacks with a navy blazer is not a work outfit, unless you work in a library or as a college professor. This look is for the dressy person who is going for a casual ensemble, a person who would wear this outfit on a Friday when everyone else is wearing jeans.
This could also be worn at the golf course, but it would be more common at a country club for lunch mid-week.

A navy blazer goes well with blue jeans, especially for the younger generation. The look has versatility, going from casual Friday at work to a dinner party to the club. It can be the look of a metrosexual on a hot date or an indie concert-goer waiting in line to see his favorite band. Paired with a nice button-down shirt and a tie, it can be the perfect outfit in which to meet your partner’s parents for the first time.

A blue blazer with shorts might not be the most trendy look, but it definitely works. The right shorts are key, of course, but there is a wide variety of workable choices. Currently, plaid shorts that are a little fitted are popular. Pair them with a polo shirt, blue blazer and some flip-flops, and you have the perfect casual-day outfit for the mall, the beach, a friend's house or the golf course. A tan or olive pair of shorts will work, too. Avoid denim shorts, though.
