Ostrich feather dusters are made from extremely soft ostrich plumage. The fine structure of the feathers, along with the natural oil in the feathers, help these dusters attract and hold onto dust, rather than simply scattering it around your home. In addition to being excellent cleaning tools, these feather dusters are easy to clean and can last for many years, even with frequent use.

    Method of Use And Care

  1. Ostrich feather dusters are best used by lightly waving the duster back and forth against a surface. No pressing or rubbing is necessary, nor is it desired, as this could bend the feathers.
When you are finished dusting, clean the duster by taking it outside and shaking it. For occasional deeper cleaning, fill a sink with warm water and a couple of drops of shampoo. Gently immerse the feathers, stir them in the water and then rinse them off. Pat them dry with a towel and then fluff them up with a warm (not hot) hairdryer.
  2. Knickknacks

  3. Dusting small knickknacks can take a long time if you use a dusting cloth. If you use an ostrich feather duster, you can dust several knickknacks at once. The feathers can get between crevices and dust delicate features of your knickknacks. Since the feathers are light, they won't knock over most figurines---you can dust them without removing them from a shelf.
  4. Glass

  5. Because feather dusters are exceptionally soft, they will remove dust without scratching window glass, mirror glass and ornamental glass in the home. The dusters are also safe to use on fine crystal and other delicate objects.
  6. Electronics

  7. Because of their light touch and ability to collect and hold dust, these dusters are suitable for surfaces of devices such as laptops, monitor screens, television sets and clocks.
  8. Furniture and Decor

  9. You can use an ostrich feather duster on your plaster or marble statues and wood furniture, such as pianos, coffee tables, statues and china hutches, without worrying about scratches to the finish. For bookcases, you can use the duster on the sides, tops and shelves, plus you can brush the duster over the tops of shelved books.
