How It Works
Microgynon 30 is a hormonal contraceptive method, which overrides a woman's regular menstrual cycle. This is especially helpful for women with irregular periods or with heavy or painful cycles as well. The use of a hormonal birth control pill prevents an egg from becoming ripe, as the pills makes the body believe that you have had a period already. This results in a lighter, shorter period. Successful skipping of one's period is also easily obtained during the use of birth control pills. The pill is taken once daily preferably around the same time each day.
Some side effects of using Microgynon 30 are: nausea, migraines or headaches, tender breasts, weight fluctuations, water retention, spotting, breakthrough bleeding, vomiting, dizziness, depression, lowered sexual libido, increased blood pressure, gallstones, liver function problems and increased risk of blood clots. While these side effects are uncommon, some women may be affected by some of them during the onset of use of Microgynon 30.
