Best Western hotels have been in business for over 60 years and are recognized as the world's leading hotel chain. It is well respected and known for its quality service and amenities. The prices vary according to what type of accommodations you are seeking and what types of discounts you qualify to use. Across the board, Best Western hotels offer higher standards; they are distinct and stylish, and quality standards.     History

  1. M. K. Guertin, an entrepreneur in the hotel business is the founder of Best Western Motells. Guertin founded this chain in 1946. By 1963 Best Western had over 35,000 motel rooms available. In 1977, Best Western became known as the "world's largest lodging chain." In 2006, Best Western celebrated its 60th anniversary and is still going strong and leading the world in the hotel industry.

  3. Best Western has some 4,000 independently owned and operated hotels, according to its corporate fact sheet. Best Western has a presence in more than 80 countries through the globe. A little over half of those hotels are located in North America. Best Western has joined alliances with NASCAR, Harley-Davidson, MasterCard, and AARP. Best Western has also partnered with several major airlines such as Air Canada, America West Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Continental and many others.

All Best Westerns offer guests access to free high-speed Internet, a choice of a hot breakfast or continental, data port connections in all guest rooms, free local phone calls, coffee makers, hair dryers and non-smoking rooms. Free toiletries are made available for those who need them. All rooms have either queen or king sized beds, clocks, music access and TVs in each room.

  7. Best Western established several reward programs to honor customers for their loyalty and patronage in 1988. Members have the ability to earn points toward products and services, including free shopping, entertainment gift certificates, dining and airline miles. Ten points are rewarded for every U.S. dollar spent on Best Western rooms.   9. There are a number of ways for people to save a good deal of money when staying at Best Western hotels. One way to save is by making your reservations and paying for your stay via the Internet. Those who do this will save 10 to 30 percent. AAA customers can also save up to 20 percent at Best Western hotels. AARP members can save up to 20 percent at Best Western hotels across the globe. This also extends to other guests over the age of 55. All military personnel receive an automatic discount rate whether they are traveling on business or on vacation.
