Friendship Gift Ideas

Buying a gift for a friend is a very nice gesture, especially if you can score the perfect present. Surprising your friend with something special does not always have to mean that it is a birthday or an occasion. It can just be a kind gesture to let your friend know how much you value them.

  1. Personalized gifts

    • If the person you are buying a gift for is a very close friend, purchase a trendy picture frame and include a picture of the two of you in it or of a time that was special to you both. Personalized gifts are always special for a friend. Anything from a personalized pen set to a bracelet with the words "Best friends" engraved on it is sure to be much loved.

    Gift basket

    • If your friend is a coffee or tea lover, then make up a gift basket and include mugs, assorted coffees or teas, some chocolates and some cookies. Even a personalized coffee mug would be perfect. Perhaps your friend is not much of a tea and coffee person, but enjoys a good beer or cocktail occasionally. Make up a basket that includes some of your friend's favorite beverages, some munchies and maybe even a CD or a DVD.

    Fashion gifts

    • For the fashion-conscious friend, try a special gift of accessories. You should know their likes, so go with something like a watch, bracelet, sunglasses, tie pins, or even cuff links. Personal accessories can often be a great friendship gift, too. Gifts such as colognes, perfumes, bath salts, and lotions are usually always welcome, especially if you already know the scents that your friend likes.

    CD collections

    • If you have a friend who loves to read, then you have a number of gift options available. Topping the list is a book collection from one of their favorite authors. Some friends prefer music to reading so CDs or CD collections are a great gift. You could include an iPod or a MP3 player.

    Sports related

    • If your friend is a sports nut, nothing could beat tickets to an upcoming game. Otherwise, anything that is sports related would be a nice gift, especially if it acknowledges a favorite team. If your friend is a gamer, there is a slew of gift options available.

    Gift certificates

    • You can never go wrong with gift certificates, although they are not very personal. You can make the gift certificate one that is much needed though. Is there a Pay Per View venue coming up that you and your friend would like to watch? Get a gift certificate to pay for the event so your friend does not have to have that hefty charge on next month's cable bill. A gas card or anything your friend needs or enjoys is a sure pick.
