It is used for the treatment of trichomoniasis (a sexually transmitted disease) and amoebic liver infections as well as intestinal infections such as amebiasis and giardiasis. Some rare side effects of Tindamax that are usually not harmful include tongue coating, depression, sore throat, throat dryness, congestion, mood swings, mental changes, runny nose, hoarseness, vocal changes, and the neck glands becoming swollen. If these side effects do not go away on their own or get worse, seek medical help.

Should you experience severe side effects of Tindamax, you should cease using the medication immediately and get emergency assistance. Some potentially harmful side effects of the drug include bleeding gums; dark stools; side or lower backache; numbing, tingling or burning sensations; chills; chest ache; difficulty swallowing; breaking out into hives; nausea; painful urination; weakness of the feet, legs, arms or hands; ulcers; abnormal bruising or bleeding; weakness or fatigue; fever and racing heartbeat.

Some rare and severe side effects of Tindamax include consciousness changes (and even consciousness loss), wheezing, tightness of the chest, loud breathing, shortness of breath and having a hard time breathing.
