The following are the minimum system requirements needed to install Adobe Reader on the Windows platform.
Processor: Intel 1.3 GHz
Operating-system version: Windows 2000 Service Pack 4, Windows Server 2003 and 2008, Windows XP or Windows Vista
RAM: 128MB (256MB recommended)
Available hard-drive space: 335 MB
Browser: Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.x or higher or Firefox 2.0 or higher. -
The following are the minimum system requirements to install Adobe Reader on a system running Linux:
Processor: 32-bit Intel Pentium processor or equivalent
Operating system: Red Hat Linux WS 5, SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop (SLED) 10 SP2 or Ubuntu 7.10
Desktop environment: GNOME or KDE
RAM: 512 MB (1GB recommended)
Available hard-drive space: 150 MB (additional 75 MB required for supported font packs)
Libraries: GTK or higher (GIMP Toolkit) user interface library, version 2.6 or higher and openLDAP and CUPS libraries
Browser: Firefox 2.0 or higher -
The following are the minimum system requirements needed to install Adobe Reader on a Macintosh system:
Processor: PowerPC G4, G5 or Intel processor
Operating system: Mac OS X version 10.4.11+
RAM: 128MB (256MB recommended)

The following are the minimum system requirements needed to install Adobe Reader on the Solaris platform.
Processor: 32-bit Intel Pentium processor or equivalent
Operating system: Solaris 10 u5 or OpenSolaris 2008.11
Desktop environment: GNOME or KDE (GNOME only for Solaris 10)
RAM: 512 MB (1GB recommended)
Available hard-drive space: 200 MB (additional 75 MB required for supported font packs)
Libraries: GTK+ (GIMP Toolkit) user interface library, version 2.6 or higher (on Solaris 10; also works with GTK 2.4.9) and openLDAP and CUPS libraries
