Identification
-
The Kiwee Toolbar installs on the top of a web browser like other toolbars. It is silver in color. A different color could be an adware program posing as the Kiwee toolbar. It has the title "Kiwee" printed in pale green on the middle of the toolbar. To the far left is the Live Search window and the Windows logo. To the right of the "Kiwee" title are bright yellow links to emoticons, winks, texts and greetings.
Features
-
The Kiwee toolbar is powered by Live search, a search engine that allows you to find content no matter where you are on the web. It also includes emoticons, winks, text and greetings to enhance communication on the Internet. Because the Kiwee toolbar supports multimedia functions, it allows you to create links to social networking sites such as Facebook and MySpace. It also allows you to create and edit MySpace graphics and layouts for your MySpace page.

Installation
-
Go to the Kiwee toolbar webpage (see Resources) and click the red "Click Here" button. Click "Save" to download the installation file to a location on your computer, preferably the desktop where it is easier to access. Double-click the downloaded file and click "Next." Click "I Agree" after reading the terms and conditions and click "Next." Click "Next" and click "Next" one more time to begin the installation. The Kiwee toolbar files will be copied to your computer. Close and restart your web browser.
Uninstallation
-
To uninstall the Kiwee toolbar if you no longer want it on your computer, you must click the Windows "Start" button and click the "Control Panel." Double-click "Add or Remove programs" in the Control Panel to open the programs and applications window. Scroll through the programs window and click "Kiwee." Click "Remove" and click "Yes" to uninstall the application from your computer. Close and re-open your web browser to complete the removal process.
Misconceptions
-
The Kiwee toolbar is not an adware or spyware. It is true that many toolbars are adware programs that secretly install on your computer and hijack your browser, but the Kiwee toolbar does not fall into that category because you have to manually select and install it. The Kiwee toolbar is not a malware and does not allow malicious files to infiltrate your computer system through it. While it's always advisable to run frequent virus checks on your computer, you are likely not going to find Kiwee files detected as dangerous.

Oh... as for doing damage or not...my Firefox browser is showing something going wrong. Any time a new browser window comes up when needed...it's blank. -

Also: It double-installed itself in my Program Files folder. It was in one folder called Kiwee... which I removed, and in another folder called AGI, which was masquerading as something related to Python, but actually contained Kiwee files. This program is devious and difficult to get rid of. -

1. I did not give Kiwee permission to install; it just showed up. 2. When I uninstalled it using add/remove programs, it did not delete its files. 3. Its "uninstall" button is grayed out in Firefox addons, so i cannot uninstall it that way 4. Even after I deleted its files, removed its registry keys, and removed it using add/remove programs, it showed up AGAIN in firefox. How is this not malware? Whether or not it actively harms my computer or sends personally identifiable information, it appeared without my permission and won't go away. I call that malware.
