Cures for Permanent Acne Scars
A pimple that gets inflamed or doesn't heal fully can cause in a scar. When an acne scar emerges, this means that one of the layers of healthy skin has been damaged. To correct that damage, new tissue fibers form to stop the bleeding and to heal the wound and that's what creates the scar. There are several types of acne scars including keloids, which are shiny and firm masses of tissue, and ice pick scars, which are deep, jagged pits. The type and severity of the scar and the treatment you decide to pursue will have a lot to do with how successful you are in permanently removing these scars.

Laser Resurfacing
-
Laser resurfacing is a relatively new technique. Carbon dioxide is used to burn away the damaged skin, layer by layer. New skin cells form after the outer layers of damaged skin have been removed. In a few weeks, you should be able to see a marked improvement.
Micro-Dermabrasion
-
Another technique is micro-dermabrasion, which can smooth out minor scars via skin exfoliation. This procedure is also helpful in getting rid of damaged and dead skin. It is particularly beneficial when it comes to raised acne scars. This method is not effective on deep, sunken scars.

Fractional Laser Resurfacing
-
Fractional Laser Resurfacing, which is also called Fraxel, utilizes high precision micro-beams that result in wounds, although unseen ones, forming around the affected area. This promotes collagen growth, which will fill up and heal your acne scars. Depending on the severity of your scars, ablative or non-ablative Fractional Laser Resurfacing will be used.
Dermal Filler
-
Consider using a dermal filler, which fills in the diveted areas that are caused by the scars. Fillers also plump up your skin. This will have to be repeated in a few months or years. Fillers do not permanently remove acne scars but are a temporary fix and will disguise your scars for a few months and maybe longer.
Thermage
-
Another approach is Thermage, which uses intense radio frequency to smooth skin. Thermage stimulates new collagen growth and tightens skin.
Chemical Peels
-
Chemical peels are an option. However, this procedure is gradually being replaced by skin resurfacing. Peels do work well as a deep exfoliate. The top layer of the skin is removed and then skin regenerates, which improves the appearance of the individual's skin and acne scars.
