Permanet Hair Removal Products for Men
Despite the perceived image, hair removal is a very difficult thing to make permanent. Men who are looking to remove unwanted hair more often as the stigma of hair removal being feminine lifts, may try a variety of methods and products before they find one that works for them. Truly permanent hair removal though is likely to be expensive, and isn't likely to be something that can be done at home.

Depilation
-
Depilation refers to any product or method that simply removes hair from above the skin. Shaving a man's face is the most common depilation used by men. There are also creams which claim to dissolve hair painlessly, but these are rarely consistent enough to replace a razor for facial hair removal. Depilation, regardless of the method, is not permanent, and doesn't even affect the hair follicle, which is what permanent hair removal has to focus on.
Intense Pulsed Light
-
Intense pulsed light hair removal is similar to laser hair removal in that a pulsed light is used to heat and damage, if not outright destroy, the hair follicle. The light used is not focused enough to be considered a laser however, and intense pulsed light hair removal is generally considered gentler than a laser beam. This service is offered by clinics as a way to reduce, and possibly remove, unwanted hair, though intense pulsed light treatment is no guarantee of permanent hair removal--only reduction.
Laser Hair Removal
-
Laser hair removal, popular since the 1990s, is one of the most successful ways to permanently remove unwanted hair. A focused beam of light referred to as a laser is used to damage or destroy the hair follicle without harming the skin around the hair. Laser hair removal may require several treatments, but it has a high rate of success, and unlike electrolysis, laser hair removal can treat larger areas to remove more hair.
Electrolysis
-
Electrolysis is a method of hair removal that was discovered more than 130 years ago, and which is still in use. Originally meant to remove ingrown eyelashes, the process spread to other forms of unwanted body hair. A needle is inserted into the skin, and an electrical current is delivered to the base of the hair follicle to destroy it. When performed properly, electrolysis is permanent, though time-consuming since each, individual hair must be destroyed.
Permanency
-
While there are a variety of hair removal methods available to men, most of them are not permanent. Shaving, using depilation creams, even waxing are only temporary solutions. Electrolysis and laser treatment are possibly the only two, really permanent solutions to the problem of unwanted hair. They are expensive, and sometimes painful, but they work in ways that do-it-yourself products just can't match.
