Troubleshooting and Maintenance

Many problems with your Deskjet printer can be solved by resetting the printer. Press the power button to turn the printer off, then disconnect the power cord. Reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on. Periodically clean the cartridges and align the printheads by clicking "Settings," "Print Settings" and "Printer Toolbox" within the HP Solution Center.
The ink cartridges are capped within printer when not they're not in use, so you don't have to remove them to prevent them from drying out. If you plan to store cartridges outside printer for a long period of time, store them in cartridge protectors.
