Winnie the Pooh Birthday Party Ideas
A.A. Milne wrote stories about the lovable Winnie the Pooh for his son Christopher. The first collection of these stories was published in 1926. Children around the world have cherished him and his friends in the Hundred Acre Woods ever since. Here are some ideas so your child can celebrate her birthday with her favorite "silly old bear." Does this Spark an idea?

Decorations
-
If many of your guests have never been to your house, you can post signs around the neighborhood that say things like: "This way to the Hundred Acre Woods." Perhaps post a sign that says, "Bounce this way to Tigger's house."
Tie bouquets of red and yellow helium balloon everywhere. For table center pieces, you can buy flower pots or jars; paint them to look like honey pots. You can also use these painted pots to hold the utensils on the food table.
Food
-
Because Pooh loves honey, you can make honey and peanut butter sandwiches. Cut them with a bear-shaped cookie cutter. Remember you can offer food with honey only to children over the age of one.
Offer a vegetable platter; say that it's fresh from Rabbits' garden. Fill a bowl with Cheetos that are colored for Tigger. Another treat could be Teddy Grahams since they are shaped like bears.

Games
-
Some children will arrive before the others do. In order to keep them busy, provide some Pooh coloring sheets for them to color while they wait for the party games to begin.
A fun and inexpensive game to play with young children is hot potato. Use a Pooh stuffed animal for the potato.
Fill a jar with yellow and red gummy bears. Have each guest try and guess how many Poohs are in the jar. The winner can keep the jar.
Play pin the tail on Eeyore by putting a large poster of him on the wall and making tails out of paper.
Have a Tigger relay by having the kids bounce down to the other end of the yard and back.
Cake
-
Your local bakery will undoubtedly have several choices of Pooh cakes for you to choose from. If you would rather make your own, here are a few ideas. Make a Pooh's face by making a round cake and using two cupcakes for his ears. Frost the whole thing a yellowish color. Pipe on his facial features with brown icing in a pastry bag.
You can also make a sheet cake. Frost it to look like the Hundred Acre Woods with a large tree on it. Then put Pooh figurines on the top. Wilton also make a Pooh shaped cake pan that comes with directions, and it's available at craft stores.
Pooh Party Favors
-
Every child loves to be able to take home her own treats from a birthday party. To make these party favors special, buy each child a small terracotta pot. Paint it to look like a honey pot. Glue a fake bee on the rim and paint each child's name on a pot. Fill the pot with gummy bears, bubbles, party blowers, Pooh pencils and other themed memorabilia.
