Statisticians
-
According to SalaryWizard.com, the low end of the salary range for a statistician is about $35,000 annually and can go as high as $58,000. Statisticians apply mathematical principles to collect, analyze and graph numerical data that is needed to understand survey results, opinion polls, the accuracy of scales and other measuring devices. Statisticians also gather and compile the information needed to determine what the average national salary ranges are for different jobs.
Microbiologists
-
Microbiologists study living organisms and infectious agents. As with most other science-related jobs, a microbiologist must have a solid math background coupled with life sciences, chemistry, immunology, statistics and physics, as well as other related courses. Microbiologist salaries range from less than $30,000 ($27,900 per year to start), to a six-figure salary after about 20 years experience ($100,800 annually).
Glass Washers
-
Glass washers are somewhat like lab assistants. Their responsibilities include washing and drying glassware and distributing it to lab stations for scientists' use for experimenting. The glass washer also cleans and sweeps the lab and is responsible for collecting and sterilizing lab testing items. Glass washers are usually high school graduates who are not required, in most cases, to have actual lab experience. Glass washers may start off in the low $20,000 range (about $23,000 per year), but after a few years experience, they can make nearly $40,000 (about $39,000 per year).
