Nutrition Information for Almond Flour

Almond flour, or almond meal, is made of ground-up almonds and is often used as a gluten-free substitute for white flour or wheat flour. Almond flour is an excellent source of fatty acids and protein and is low in carbohydrates. It can be found through several different retailers and brands, and the various brands offer slightly different nutrition information.

  1. Calories

    • In one serving of almond flour, there are approximately 145 calories, with 110 of these being calories from fat. That is high fat content, but the fats are mostly good fatty acids that occur in nuts such as almonds.

    Carbohydrates

    • In the same quarter cup of almond flour, there are 4g of total carbohydrates, made up of 1g of sugar and 3g of dietary fiber. This makes for a low-carb flour replacement.

    Fats

    • One serving of almond flour has 12 grams of fat, or 18 percent of the recommended daily value. However, only one of these grams is from saturated fat. The same amount of almonds also provides more than 3,000mg of omega-6 fatty acids, retained in almond meal and almond flour.

    Vitamins and Minerals

    • Almond flour contains small amounts of several vitamins and minerals. Almonds contain a large amount of vitamin E--35 percent of your recommended daily value--as well as 6 percent of your recommended daily value of calcium, 6 percent of your recommended daily value of iron and 20 percent your recommended daily value of magnesium. It also contains a smaller amount of phosphorous, riboflavin, copper and manganese.

    Other

    • This serving of almond flour contains approximately 6.1g of protein, which is 12 percent of your recommended daily value. One-quarter cup also contains 1.3g of water and 0.8g of ash.
