Depending upon the school, there can be a big difference between a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree and a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree. The focus of a BA degree is on liberal arts topics, such as, English and literature, philosophy, fine arts, music, history and other humanities. BS degrees are typically focused on the technical fields of engineering, the sciences and math. However, some institutions give a BA for majors in science and math.
