Healthy Fad Diets
Throw a rock, you will hit a fad diet. They are anywhere and everywhere, but this does not mean some of them are not worth their weight in...food. Through the endless sea of diets, there remain a few that, for many, have provided positive results and a healthier lifestyle. These help to give credence to the idea that some diets DO work.
-
Atkins Diet
-
The ever-popular Atkins Diet calls for avoidance of carbohydrates. While it does not say completely do away with them, it focuses on foods that contain little to none of these fat-inducing elements. The goal is to keep the carbs under 20 grams per day, while eating lots of protein to maintain energy and muscle-maintaining nutrients.
South Beach Diet
-
The South Beach Diet was apparently so named for the model-friendly bodies scurrying around the South Beach locale. Or else it was invented there. Either way, it works. This diet involves calculating all sorts of elements taken in, including fat, carbs, sodium and many others. By balancing intake, the body is able to process everything equally, resulting in proper metabolism and, ultimately, loss of weight.

The Hollywood Diet
-
This one is tricky. The Hollywood Diet does work, but after it is over, you will need to hop aboard another working diet to maintain positive results. This diet uses liquid to flush toxins, fatty acids and other weight-bearing elements out of the body. It also works to flush out excess water, which bloats the body. The result? A thinner body. A hungry person. Be sure to start another diet once results start to revert back.
Slim-Fast
-
Obviously if a diet has been around as long as Slim-Fast, something has to be working. This diet has shakes, snacks and meals that are to be eaten for every at intervals to keep your body from ever being hungry--which, of course, leads to overeating. The idea is that simple, healthier meals lead to healthier bodies. However, to make this diet work, include exercise in the mix to get that body into bathing suit shape.
The Chocolate Diet
-
Amazingly enough, the Chocolate Diet has some validity. It actually works. Eating pasta, popcorn and chocolate every day may not sound like a diet, but welcome to the new diet craze. This one is designed to shock the body and jump-start the metabolism into overdrive. Although the pastas and sauces are low-fat, the consuming of such heavy foods tricks the body into working overtime to process everything, often tending to flush the lot of it out, resulting in weight loss.
