UTStarcom acquired the cellphone division of Audiovox technologies in 2004. Since then, they have been producing phones for Verizon Wireless, Alltel, Cricket, Qwest Wireless, Sprint, Virgin Mobile and MetroPCS.

    Blitz TXT8010

  1. This phone is offered by Verizon Wireless. It has a slide down keyboard and internet capabilities. It has a 1.2 megapixel camera and in its reviews it is given a very high rating. People note its great keyboard, but also in some cases its poor camera quality.
  2. Arc CDM8074

  3. This phone is offered by Virgin Mobile. It is a very basic clamshell design phone. It does have internet capability, but it is primarily a voice phone. The battery life is average. People give it a high rating for the basic kind of phone it is.
  4. Technology

  5. Starcom cell phones work on CDMA technology. This means they tend to have better cell service than GSM phones in some areas. If they are capable, they are also better able to use non-voice functions such as internet or texting.
  6. Starcom and Other Companies

  7. Starcom usually commissions other companies to make their cell phones for them. For example, the Blitz and the Arc were both created by Pantech.
  8. Starcom Now

  9. Starcom was not originally a cell phone sales company. They were primarily a networking company specializing in voice over IP technology and DSL modems. They sold their personal communications technologies in July of 2008, and thus are no longer making cell phones.
