Smoking Marijuana

Smoking marijuana causes dry throat. The marijuana leaf naturally dehydrates the fluids in the body so it is also common to also have dry mouth and eyes while smoking marijuana. The best way to treat this symptom is to not smoke marijuana.

Snake Bites

Snake bites are more common than you might think, especially in the summer months. Pit Viper bites are the most common reported in the United States and are also very poisonous. Their venom is considered a chemical that burns and dries out the mouth and throat, causing it to burn. Snake bites can be deadly, so it is very important to get medical attention immediately.

Allergies

Whether it is a food or a seasonal allergy, many cause dry itchy throats, along with a multitude of other symptoms. This is because the body releases many different chemicals such as histamines, trying to fight off the allergy. There are many over the counter medications to help with allergy symptoms. However, for some the allergies can be life threatening. This is especially true with food allergies, and one should therefore always avoid the thing that causes the allergy attack since it can be life threatening.

Botulism Food Poisoning

Botulism food poisoning has many symptoms, including dry throat. Botulism produces neurotoxins that are very dangerous to the nervous system as well as to the tissues and other vital organs. Other symptoms of botulism food poisoning are extreme fatigue, dizziness and difficulty swallowing and breathing. If you suspect that you have botulism food poisoning, contact a health care professional immediately.

Household Cleaners

Many household cleaners have chemicals in them that when breathed in hurt and dry out the mouth and throat. It is always safe to wear plastic gloves and a mask when using such products so that you are not breathing in the dangerous chemicals. Open a window for proper ventilation. There are also many cleaners on the market today that are totally safe to use since they are made with all-natural products.
