Gout is a medical condition caused by excessive uric acid levels in your bloodstream. With gout, monosodium urate (MSU) crystals are placed around the joints, nearby tissues and tendons, directly on articular cartilage. Gout occurs as a result of high levels of uric acid being in the bloodstream for an extended period of time, and high levels of acidity in the bloodstream as well. In some cases, gout can lead to deformities of the joints. There are several natural treatments for gout.

    Gouticil

  1. One natural remedy for treating gout is known as Gouticil, an all-natural formula that functions to decrease the body's levels of uric acid. It works to cease the soreness associated with gout and acts to get rid of the aching and swelling. Gouticil contains Vitamin C, quercetin, bromelain, blueberry extract, nettle extract and flax seed powder.
  2. Cherries

  3. Cherries are a common natural home remedy for dealing with gout. It is recommended that people with gout consume between 1/2 cup to 1 lb. cherries per day. They can either be eaten as is or can be put in a blender and mixed with water to produce a juice. Cherries are known to lower levels of uric acid in the body.
  4. Diet

  5. A person's diet has a lot to do with whether he develops gout. Overweight individuals are more likely to get gout. Eating more dairy can help to decrease uric acid levels. People who drink milk or eat yogurt on a regular basis have significantly lower levels of uric acid. Also, people who consume high amounts of either seafood or meat have a higher chance of developing gout.
  6. Aromatherapy

  7. Aromatherapy is a natural remedy that is believed to soothe the aches and pains of gout. Create a massage oil that contains 1 oz. olive oil and 5 juniper oil drops. Massage it deeply into the joints a few times a day to ease gout pains.
  8. Hydrotherapy

  9. Hydrotherapy is a natural treatment option that can significantly help with gout aches and pains as well. Cold water and ice treatments are excellent for gout pain management. Place a wet, cold compress to the area that is experiencing gout pain for approximately 20 minutes. It is important to make sure the cold compress is not left on the affected part for more than 20 minutes, as that could cause potential damage to the skin.
