Cabergoline is a prescription medication used to treat conditions associated with the production of prolactin, a peptide hormone released from the pituitary gland. Cabergoline falls under the classification of a dopamine agonist, which is a type of drug that stimulates the dopamine receptors in the body. For other people, it is possible that cabergoline may cause serious side effects. Of these effects, both abdominal pain and vertigo are the more common. Rare Side Effects

Though rare, cabergoline has triggered other more serious side effects, including visual disturbances, loss of appetite, weight loss, unexplained weight gain, concentration issues, rapid heartbeat and a swelling in the hands, feet, ankles and legs.
