Rainbow Bible Information

The Rainbow Bible is a fully color-coded Bible. Designed for clearer understanding and studying, the Rainbow Bible's 12 colored sections categorize every scripture. Words directly spoken by God have been underlined throughout the Rainbow Bible.

  1. History

    • In the mid-1960s, Rainbow Studies International commissioned the in-depth research needed to make the Rainbow Bible possible. It took over 16 years for philosophers, theologians and Christian religious specialists to categorize each section of the Bible into 12 main categories.

    The Sections

    • Each paragraph within the Rainbow Bible has been allocated one of 12 colors. All paragraphs related directly to God are colored purple as purple is the color of royalty. The other colors/categories are:
      Red - Discipleship
      Light Blue - History
      Blue - Salvation
      Brown - Evil
      Gold - Prophecy
      Olive - Commandments
      Black - Sin
      Green - Love
      Yellow - Family
      Pink - Outreach
      Orange - Faith
If a particular paragraph relates to more than one category, this is also displayed.

    Other Sections

    • The Rainbow Bible contains full-color maps of biblical lands, calendars to aid with the reading the Bible, 365 popular biblical quotations, and sectional headings with cross-references to other verses.

    Looking Back

    • Many generations have passed since the Bible was originally created, so the Rainbow Bible indicates changes in and comparisons to history, culture and landscapes, and provides a measures and weight table to help the reader compare historical and modern facts with ancient terms.

    The Future

    • Within the Rainbow Bible, the language has been updated (as is done with other Bible versions) to reflect the meanings of the original words in current English. In the future, the Rainbow Bible's language may be updated to keep up with changing word meanings.
