Can Diovan Cause Kidney Failure?

Like most drugs, Diovan has side effects. There is speculation regarding the possibility of the drug causing kidney failure. Although the active ingredient in Diovan actually blocks the chemicals that cause kidney failure, one of the side effects of Diovan is kidney problems for those who already have the disease.

  1. What is Diovan?

    The Evil of Angiotensin II

    • ARBs "block" Angiotensin II, which is a deadly chemical that causes blood vessels to narrow. This narrowing constricts the vessels and can cause high blood pressure. That can lead to heart and kidney failure.
