About Virbac Allergroom Shampoo for Dogs

Allergroom is a shampoo made for dogs, cats and horses with special skincare needs. It can be purchased online, in some pet supply stores or in veterinarian offices. Read on to find out what sets it apart from other special skincare products for dogs.

  1. Significance

    • With the recent popularity of carrying dogs in purses and dressing them up in clothes, dogs have been overexposed to irritants such as dog cologne and shampoos that contain unnecessary fragrances. There are also other allergens and skin irritants in the environment that can cause excessive scratching, dry coat and shedding. Products such as Virbac Allergroom Shampoo provide a convenient way to minimize the discomfort a dog and its owner experience.

    Function

    • Allergroom is a soap-free shampoo with hypoallergenic qualities. It contains an exclusive, patented spherulites that promote delayed release of the active ingredients. It also contains chitosanide that leaves a protective film on the skin and hair.

    Effects

    • This combination of ingredients in the Allergroom Shampoo work together to calm irritated skin and promote a healthy, shiny coat. Soap can be irritating and leave a residue on the skin and coat of a dog. Because Allergroom does not contain soap this potential irritant is removed. The protective layer on the skin and coat also prevent further irritants and allergens from nesting on the dog. The delayed release of some ingredients lengthens the effectiveness of the shampoo.

    How to Use

    • Allergroom is often recommended by a veterinarian and specific instructions will be provided. For general use, the product should be shaken well before application and applied to a wet coat. After massaging the product thoroughly into the coat, allow it to set for 5 to10 minutes. Rinse well with clean water. Unless specified differently, Allergroom should be used weekly.

    Warning

    • Even though Allergroom is made of many natural ingredients, it is still a medicated shampoo. It is not a tear-free formula and can be harmful if ingested or comes in contact with the eyes or inside the nose. Take care that this product is not ingested by a pet or a child. Be sure to wash all items that come in contact with the product during a bath, especially hands. Read the product label carefully and discontinue using it if any severe skin irritation occurs.
