Other third-party vendors and online entities also offer Excel training courses either free or for minimal fees. Some suppliers offer training DVDs that can be ordered and shipped to your home for the cost of shipping and handling only.

For 2007, Microsoft changed individual icons and pull-down menus into one control or command center, called a "ribbon." They also offer free courses in this latest version online, including those features in Excel 2003 and additional features such as how to use the command center, the new workbook window, budget templates, charting tools and formatting the way to print on one screen (margins, orientation, print area and page breaks) instead of going back and forth between pull-down menu options.
