About Sims 2 Bon Voyage

The Sims 2: Bon Voyage is an expansion pack for the popular computer game The Sims 2. It came out in September, 2007, making it the sixth expansion pack. It is available for both the PC and the MAC. Much like the Vacation pack for the first Sims game, The Sims 2: Bon Voyage adds the elements of travel to the game.

Basic Features

Though the Sims 2: Bon Voyage offers fewer options than the previous expansion packs, it allows your Sims to go on vacation to three default locales and gives you the option of creating your own vacation spot. The goal is to create a place for your hardworking Sims to go and relax.

Locations

The three default vacation spots included in The Sims 2: Bon Voyage are Takemizu Village (a facsimile of an exotic Far East location), Twikkii Island (a tropical resort) and Three Lakes (a forested mountainside). Each location has secret locations you can unlock. Each location also features unique non-player characters (NPCs) like pirates, ninjas, hoteliers, staff and chefs. You have the option of creating your own dream vacation house as well.

Activities

Each different location features new skills that the Sims can learn. They can dance, massage and learn local customs. In the Woodlands, the Sims can camp out and stay in a lodge. At the beach, they can swim in the ocean, look for seashells, sunbathe or build a sandcastle. In the Far East, Sims learn local customs, drink tea and learn how to play games such as mahjong.

Mementos

Once the Sims return to their daily lives, the vacation is not over. You can buy souvenirs and mementos and bring them back into the normal game setting. There is also a camera feature that allows you take snapshots during the vacation and then put them into a photo album. Bonuses from skills learned while on vacation also carry-over and your Sims will have increased abilities when they return from vacation.

New Objects

Sims 2: Bon Voyage offers some new items.There are new roofing types, such as the curved roof and pagoda. There are new windows and doors to add to your pre-existing set of options. There are also massage tables and new foliage for your garden. New hairstyles, jewelry, clothes and piercings are also available.
