A Trojan horse clicker is a computer virus with many different variations that can infect your computer system. The Trojan is designed to delete your system files, display pop-up windows and hijack your Internet Explorer browser. The Trojan will gather personal information and record your surfing habits to display various types of adware.

This virus has different purposes depending on which variety has infected your system.Most variations display pop-up advertisements and redirect your browser to specific web pages that can upload and install adware on your system.
Signs

You may have a Trojan horse clicker infection if you see slower Internet surfing, browser shutdowns and increased processor usage. Other signs include new icons on your desktop for porn sites and pop-up windows that appear when you go online. A Trojan horse clicker can also reset Internet Explorer's home page.

Infections

The virus can infect your computer system through shareware or freeware as well as peer-to-peer file sharing programs. You may also get infected if you visit an infected or corrupted website or open an unknown email attachment.
Removal

You can remove Trojan horse clicker by running an anti-virus scan using an online tool or a downloaded anti-virus program. One online tool is the PC safety scan by Microsoft OneCare (see Resources). A free anti-virus tool is the AVG Anti-Virus.
Prevention

You can prevent a Trojan horse clicker infection by routinely scanning your system for viruses. You should set up your anti-virus program to periodically run an automatic scan, and to perform a real-time scan. That includes scanning files for viruses as you download them.
