What is Scarguard?

Scarguard is a series of topical skin-care products designed to be used together to minimize the appearance of scars from injury and surgery, and help prevent new scars from forming. The products also work on other types of skin discoloration, and offer protection against UV rays.
They are available without prescription and are manufactured by Scarguard Labs of Great Neck, NY.

  1. Products

    • Scarguard manufactures three products: Scarguard MD, Scarlight MD and Solarguard MD. An explanation of each follows.

    Scarguard MD

    • Scarguard MD is made to help minimize new scars, to reduce the size of existing scars and to flatten scars that have risen above the skin around it.
Scarguard MD is a clear liquid that dries quickly and does not leave obvious marks on the skin.

    Scarlight MD

    • Scarlight MD was formulated to treat a variety of skin discolorations. It is recommended for circles under the eyes, liver spots, and other brown discolorations. It is absorbed into the skin and will not cause cosmetic products to run or smear.

    Solarguard MD

    • Solarguard MD is Scarguard's sun-protection product. It guards skin, and especially scars, against harmful solar rays.

    Availability

    • Scarguard products are sold online through Scarguard's website, and are also available at major online marketplaces such as amazon.com and websites specializing in skin-care products. The products are also available at major pharmacies such as CVS and Rite Aid.
