- The playing court measures 18 meters by 9 meters (59 feet by 29 feet 6 inches) with 3 meters (9 feet 10 inches) all around for the free zone. The center line should divide the court into two equal, square courts.
- The net is to be placed vertically above the center line at a height of 2.43 meters (7 feet 11 inches) for men's matches and 2.24 (7 feet 4 inches) for women's matches. Co-ed matches should have the net set at the men's height. The height is measured from the center of the net with the ends of the net reaching the same height. The net must not be more than 2 centimeters about the official height.
- The net should measure 1 meter wide by 9 1/2 to 10 meters long and made of 10 centimeter square black mesh. In addition, there should be 25 to 50 centimeters on each edge of the side bands. Both the top and bottom of the net should have a horizontal band, made of white canvas, sewn along its entire length. Each end of the band will have a hole that will allow a rope to be fed through and tied to the posts in order to keep both the top and bottom of the net taut.
- The side bands should be two white bands, each 5 centimeters wide and 1 meter long, that are vertically attached to the net directly above each sideline. They are considered part of the net.
- The antennae are used to mark the lateral boundaries of the net. They should be flexible rods 1.8 meters (5 feet 11 inches) long and 10 millimeters in diameter. They should be made of fiberglass or a similar material and attached at the outer edge of each side band on opposite sides of the net. The top 80 centimeters of the antenna should extend above the net and be marked with different alternating color stripes (usually red and white).
- The posts supporting the net should be placed .5 meters to 1 meter outside the sidelines. While adjustable posts are preferred, they should usually stand 2.55 meters tall (8 feet 4 inches). Posts must be rounded and smooth with no wires or any other potential obstruction used to fix them to the ground.
