About Seaworld Orlando

Seaworld Orlando is a theme park centered on aquatic animals set in a sea life theme. Filled with sea life encounters, breathtaking rides and playful shows featuring sea animals, Seaworld Orlando provides fun for the whole family. Seaworld Orlando is open year-round, generally from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. during non-peak months and from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. during the summer and holiday months.

Animals

Seaworld Orlando is filled with a variety of animals including the famous Budweiser Clydesdale horses, dolphins, turtles, stingrays, manatees, sea lions, sharks, penguins and killer whales, including the famous Shamu. All animals are featured in settings made to look like their natural habitats.

Shows

Featured shows at Seaworld Orlando include: "Believe" featuring killer whales;" Blue Horizons" starring dolphins; "Clyde and Seamore Take Pirate Island" with walruses, sea lions and otters; "Pet's Ahoy" featuring standard house pets; "Mystify" a laser light show; and a human performance show called "A' lure, The Call of the Ocean".

Rides

Seaworld Orlando has numerous rides for thrill seekers. The main rides include: Manta, a roller coaster ride in the shape of a manta stingray; Kraken, a floor-less roller coaster; Journey to Atlantis, a water- based roller coaster; and the Wild Arctic simulator ride.

Animal Encounters

Seaworld Orlando features two up-close animal encounter experiences for an extra charge of $149 per person. The Beluga Interaction Program allows visitors to swim with beluga whales and have hands-on interaction. The program fee also includes a DVD on whales. The Sharks Deep Dive offers a similar experience with more than 30 sharks and schools of fishes for two hours. Souvenirs include a commemorative T-shirt and an information booklet. Visitors must be at least ten years of age to participate in the animal encounters and reservations are recommended since participation is limited.

Dining

In addition to multiple food vendors and restaurants, Seaworld Orlando features special dining adventures. "Backstage at Believe...Dine With Shamu" is a buffet meal served next to the killer whale pool. "Sharks Underwater Grill" is an upscale restaurant with a Caribbean and seafood focus that features underwater views while dining. "Makahiki Luau" features an authentic Pacific Island luau feast and entertainment. Reservations are required for all special dining adventures.
