Paring knives are a cook's best friend. Small and sharp, they are designed to cut, carve, peel and do just about everything because they are so easy to control.

    Slicing

  1. Use your paring knife to slice small vegetables, or create paper thin sheets of garlic.
  2. Peeling

  3. Paring knives are perfect for peeling apples, pears and other fruit. Or use it instead of a peeler for potatoes or cucumbers.
  4. Carving

  5. Use this versatile knife to carve radish roses, carrot butterflies and other garnishes. This is one job that bigger knives cannot do. The paring knife is easier to maneuver, so get creative.
  6. Small Jobs

  7. This is the knife to reach for when de-veining shrimp or removing seeds from small peppers.
  8. Just for Fun

  9. Use it for detail work when you are creating your next Jack 'o lantern.
