Blackheads occur when excess oil develops on your skin. When you have a blackhead, they mostly seem to come in clusters. Rarely will you see only one at a time. Though unsightly, there are ways to treat blackheads at home.

    Warning

  1. Resist the urge to touch it with your hands.Your hands have oils on them. This can irritate the area even more, causing breakouts to increase.
  2. Prevention

  3. Crush an aspirin, mix it with a few drops of water, soak a cotton swab in the solution, and dab it on your face. This will not make the blackhead blemishes completely go away, but it may stop future ones from showing up throughout the day and also shrink the ones you do have.
  4. Solutions

  5. Look in your cabinet and mix honey, some of an egg white, lemon juice, and oatmeal together to make a paste out of a teaspoon of each. Wash your face then put the paste on the breakout area and leave it on your face for 20 minutes. If you have hydrogen peroxide, dab it on the blackheads first to disinfect them.
  6. Significance

  7. Take some toothpaste (the actual paste variety, not the gel kind), and place it on the problem area before you go to bed at night. This will help to dry out the area. Only put it on the area that needs to be treated, however, because other areas of your face may dry out too much.
  8. Considerations

  9. Visit a dermatologist to help with your blackhead breakouts if home remedies do not alleviate them. A doctor may be able to give you medications or prescription-strength cleansers to help the relief of blackheads and pimples if the problem seems to be chronic.
  10. History

  11. Blackheads are often contributed to eating greasy foods, but blackheads and pimples can also be caused by your genetic makeup. Having naturally oily skin can cause breakouts just as much as the foods that you eat.
