What Is a CTR Ring?

The CTR ring is a popular and well-loved symbol among The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints faith (LDS). It is a symbol that holds great testimony to the foundation of their belief. Though the CTR ring is not something the members of the LDS faith are required to have or wear, the symbol and meaning of the ring is a mere reminder of something they are taught to pattern their lives after. The CTR ring is a constant reminder as to what is expected from each person belonging to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The ring is not something they worship, but rather, keep close as a reminder to always do good.

Where the phrase 'choose the right' came from

History of the CTR ring

In the 1960s the logo of the CTR ring, which is a shield, and which the letters sit upon, was created by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints General Primary Board (Primary is the organization for children ages 2-11). The shield symbolizes the protection and strength that come from choosing what is right. Then in the 1970s the CTR logo was made into a ring that was given out to all children. The original ring had a green shield with gold CTR letters.

CTR Ring Today

Since the 1970s when the original ring was introduced, it has become popular not only among Latter-Day Saints children but among Latter-Day Saints adults as well. The ring is often seen worn on the opposite hand of the wedding band. It is popular among both men and women regardless of age.

Different Styles of The CTR Ring

The CTR ring still holds true to the shield logo, though many different styles have been incorporated into its theme to please the different fashion tastes.
