State income taxes fund public services that protect the well being of the citizens. According to each state, variances in income tax collection, categories of funding and amount of funding will vary. The governor of the state will propose a budget that delegates the amount of funding and the area of funding. Learn about the broad public services that may be funded by state income taxes.
