Smart packing involves taking clothing that is practical rather than stylish---items that will shield you from insects, sun and other environmental factors.

Shirts

Short sleeved shirts will be sufficient for a safari, however long sleeved ones will be the ideal choice for travelers who require additional protection from mosquito bites. If you wear a long sleeved shirt, layer it over a short sleeved one. As a result, you will have the option to take it off and stay cool in very hot temperatures. Opt for earth tones, such as khaki or olive drab, on which dirt and dust are less visible than on very light or very dark colors.

Pants and Shorts

Vest

You do not want to miss a second of observing wildlife and habitats during the safari because you were rummaging through your bag to locate your camera.
