What Is a Wellbox?

The Wellbox is a new product that provides an at-home endermologie treatment similar to those provided at spas. These treatments are supposed to have many benefits for both beauty and health. If you're familiar with endermologie, it's probably because a local spa has advertised the skin firming and cellulite reducing effects of such treatments. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. How it Works

    • The Wellbox offers at-home endermologie treatments. Endermologie uses suction to deeply massage connective tissue. The Wellbox has paddles with rollers (for the body) or flaps (for the face). The paddle is rolled over the body and the tissue is gently sucked in and massaged. This provides stimulation and massage deep within the skin's connective tissue.

    Usage

    • The Wellbox features paddles that can be used on different parts of the body, including the buttocks, thighs, stomach, face and neck. To give yourself a treatment, choose and connect the appropriate paddle. Run the paddle over the entire area being treated going up and down, then go over the entire area again going back and forth.

    Results

    • Though less powerful than endermologie machines at spas and salons, the Wellbox is supposed to provide the same results over a longer period of time. The company says you'll see results after using the Wellbox four times a week for six to eight weeks. After the eight weeks, you switch to a maintenance routine of one treatment per week.

    Benefits

    • The manufacturer says that using the Wellbox improves your circulation and skin tone, smooths your skin and reduces the appearance of cellulite, streamlines your figure and relaxes your entire body, reduces lines and wrinkles and lifts sagging skin.

    Cost

    • A Wellbox costs about $1,700. Depending on what part of the country you live in and what area you're having treated, endermologie treatments at a spa will cost you between $90 and $250 per visit. You need between 16 and 24 treatments per area. So the Wellbox pays for itself -- and possibly more -- after you've treated one area. You can also use the Wellbox to maintain the results from your spa endermologie treatments.
