Cures for Dry Facial Skin

Cures for dry facial skin caused by severe weather conditions, climate change, stress or simply improper skin care can be tricky. Skin becomes most dry when taken out of its natural environment. For example, if your skin is used to a more humid atmosphere and you go skiing for the weekend, you need to be prepared for chapped dry skin. The same is true for extremely stressful conditions or drastic health changes. Natural remedies are the best cures for dry facial skin, and they are also the most cost efficient. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. Intensive Healing Treatment

    • Before bed, mix a teaspoon of vitamin E oil and olive oil. Apply the oil mixture to the face in circular motions and allow to seep into the skin overnight. This is an intensive moisturizing and repairing facial treatment. Vitamin E repairs dry damaged skin while olive oil clarifies and softens.

    Evening Primrose Oil

    • Take an Evening Primrose oil supplement. This evening blooming flower extract is a well known beauty secret among experts and has been used throughout the ages for healthy skin, hair and nails. Evening Primrose oil will improve skin's texture and keep the face soft and supple from the inside out.

    Moisture Blend

    • Create a moisturizing mask by combining 1 tablespoon of honey, 1 tablespoon of dried milk, 1/4 of a cup of water and 1/4 of a cup of dried apricots. Mix well in an electric blender until it becomes a pulp. Apply to the face for 15 minutes and rinse with water. This mask will moisturize dry skin.

    Hydrating Fruit

    • Take about 1/4 of an avocado and mash it into a creamy paste. Spread it over the face and leave on for 15 minutes. Avocados have more natural oils than any other fruit, and they are also loaded with vitamins such as A and E. Vitamin A is especially good for dry skin because it stimulates sebum production giving the face more of its own natural oils.

    Nourishing Mask

    • A lack of potassium causes skin to become extremely dry and lose its elasticity. Bananas are full of potassium and vitamin A. Mash 1/2 a banana and spread over the face. Allow to absorb into the skin or about 15 minutes and rinse thoroughly with warm water. Skin will feel soft and hydrated.

    Smoothing Serum

    • Separate the yolk of 1 egg and beat into 1 teaspoon of honey. Egg yolks contain lecithin, a nutrient similar to vitamin E, and honey helps the skin hold in moisture to prevent the face from drying out. Smooth the mixture over the face and let it dry for 15 minutes before rinsing.

    Soap Free

    • Only use soap-free cleansers. Soap is far too harsh for dry skin and will only cause the face to become more cracked and stripped of moisture. Use a cream based cleanser, or simple cleanse the face with pure olive oil. Olive oil is naturally clarifying. Just massage into the skin and rinse thoroughly with water or wipe oil away with a washcloth soaked in warm water.
