What Do Conserative Democrats Believe?
Conservative Democrats' roots can be traced to the writings and beliefs of Thomas Jefferson; however, the election of President Andrew Jackson in 1828 gave birth to the Democrat Party. Conservative Democratic strongholds were in the South and the rural areas of the United States.
Today's conservative Democrats have been called Reagan Democrats or Blue Dog Democrats.
